CORPRESC LEGAL

Privacy Policy

This policy explains how CORPRESC LEGAL handles personal information shared with the firm through this website, client engagements, and other professional interactions, consistent with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and applicable Bar Council of India rules.

Information We Collect

We collect personal information that you voluntarily share with us, including your name, email address, phone number, organisation, and details of the legal matter for which you are seeking assistance. This information may be collected through our contact forms, email correspondence, consultation bookings, or direct engagement with our advocates.

We may also collect limited technical information such as IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and usage patterns through standard web analytics. This data is used to maintain service quality and does not by itself identify individual users.

How We Use Information

Personal information is used strictly for the purposes of responding to your enquiry, assessing potential conflicts of interest, providing legal advisory services, complying with statutory and regulatory obligations, and maintaining firm records as required under the Advocates Act, 1961 and Bar Council of India Rules.

We do not use your information for unsolicited marketing, and we do not sell, rent, or trade personal data to any third party. Any processing is limited to legitimate purposes clearly communicated to you at the point of collection.

Confidentiality & Legal Privilege

Information shared in the course of a confirmed attorney-client engagement is protected by legal professional privilege under Sections 126 to 129 of the Indian Evidence Act, 1872. Initial communications made prior to formal engagement are treated with the same degree of care and confidentiality as privileged communications.

Access to client information within the firm is limited to advocates and authorised staff who require it to render services. All personnel are bound by confidentiality obligations that survive the termination of their engagement with the firm.

Your Rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to access, correct, and in certain circumstances erase personal information held by us, as well as the right to withdraw consent to processing. You may also nominate another individual to exercise these rights in the event of your death or incapacity.

To exercise any of these rights, please write to us at contact@corpresclegal.com. We will verify your identity and respond within the timelines prescribed by applicable law. Certain records that we are required to retain by law or for ongoing mandates may be exempt from deletion.

Data Retention & Security

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, to comply with statutory record-keeping requirements, and to protect the firm's legitimate interests in the event of a dispute. Archival retention timelines align with limitation periods under the Limitation Act, 1963 and applicable professional standards.

Reasonable technical and organisational safeguards are maintained to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. No system is fully impervious to risk, and in the event of any notifiable data breach, we will act in accordance with applicable notification requirements.

Grievance Contact

Questions, concerns, or grievances relating to the handling of personal information may be addressed to the firm at contact@corpresclegal.com. We endeavour to acknowledge all enquiries promptly and resolve concerns within a reasonable period.
